Sugar Cookies

These sugar cookies are perfectly soft, perfectly chewy, perfectly frosted with the best vanilla frosting. You will want to make them all the time, not just for holidays anymore.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 2/3 cup butter (softened)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 TBS milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

For the Frosting:

  • 1 TBS vanilla
  • 4 TBS butter (softened)
  • 2 TBS milk
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 6 drops food coloring (optional)

Fudge is definitely one of my favorite holiday treats and this easy fudge recipe is dangerously delicious! My sister got this fudge recipe from a lady who used to own a candy shop.  I swear I could eat a whole pan by myself- I can’t even wait for it to cool before I dig in! Lemon Sugar Cookie Bars

I made this in a 9X13 (1/4) sheetpan and I doubled the recipe and had extra cookie dough even after loading the top. I wrapped it up to save in case I get a cookie craving. I know in my gas oven it took longer than 30 minutes for both bakes. They are delish! I could not resist trying them while warm…lol I’ve baked plenty of treats for family, friends, and colleagues, and I’ve never received praise like after I made them these lemon cookie bars! It kind of made me feel like I’ve been making them garbage food up until now because they went so gaga over these bars. They are universally enjoyed; adults and kids raved about them.
